Dear Colleagues, Ladies and Gentlemen!
European Studies have been present in Polish academic research and teaching for at least two decades. The point of reference for this discipline was dynamic processes of European integration and Poland's membership in the European Union, as well as civilization transformations in Europe. The given perspective influenced Polish academic environment to organize the First Nationwide Congress for European Studies which will take place between 18th and 20th September 2014 at Warsaw University.
The main aims of the Congress are in particular:
- integration of the environment of Polish scholars: political science experts, layers, economists, representatives of international relations, sociologists, culture experts and experienced professionals who deal with widely understood European issues,
- the debate on Polish decade of experience in relation to Poland's membership in the European Union,
- emphasizing recent problems in European integration and discussion over perspectives on progress,
- methodological- theoretical issues of European Studies. As European integration is studied by various academic disciplines, in order to recognize European issues we need to use interdisciplinary and to search for new methodological approaches.
Therefore, I am very proud to invite You and students to take part in this event so significant for European experts.
